Using a RAC Code to Change Units and Clusters

Occasionally, you might need access to patient and bed information in units and clusters that are not included in your membership. (See the definition of membership in the TransportTracking application, membership in the BedTracking® application, and membership in PreAdmitTracking® application application.) If you have variable membership (floater) and you have already signed in for the day and selected a unit or cluster, and then you need to have access to patient, bed, or job information from another unit or cluster, you may sign out and sign in to select a different unit or cluster.

If you have the Allow User to Set Membership on Login permission, then when you sign out and attempt to sign in again and select an application, you are prompted automatically to select another cluster or unit. If you do not have this permission, you are required to enter a Re-Assignment Authorization Code (RAC) before you can select another cluster or unit. Ask a user who has the Allow User to Request RAC permission to generate the Re-Assignment Authorization Code (RAC) for you. For example, your supervisor might have this permission.

If you need to change a unit or cluster using a RAC code, complete the following procedure:

  1. Sign out of Capacity Management Suite® solution and the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system.
  2. Ask a user with the Allow User to Request RAC permission for a Re-Assignment Authorization Code (RAC) (for example, your supervisor).
  3. Open Capacity Management Suite® solution again.
  4. In the User Login ID box, type your user ID (for example, csmith).
  5. In the Password box, type your password.
  6. Select the Add RAC Code link.
  7. In the RAC Code box, type the Re-Assignment Authorization Code (RAC).
  8. Click Sign In.
  9. Complete the remaining steps in Signing in When You Have Variable Membership.

Transporters and Bed Cleaners Cannot Sign in on a Workstation While Dispatched or In Progress with a Job

Occasionally, transporters and bed cleaners sign in to the Capacity Management Suite® solution on a computer workstation. For example, if a transporter's last name has changed, the transporter might sign in and change the name in My Information. Transporters and bed cleaners cannot sign in on a workstation if their current statuses are Dispatched or In Progress on transport or bed cleaning jobs.
